What are the odds we would show up matching for our run when we own 300 running tanks between us all?
Workout Tuesday was on the schedule once the kids were all in school in our favorite gorgeous canyon.
We had a fartlek workout, with the first half up the canyon and the second half down. The workout: 2 mile w/u, 5 min, 4 min, 3 min, 2 min, 1 min, 2 min, 3 min, 4 min, 5 min. Short recoveries for the shorter intervals and longer ones for the longer intervals. I’m not going to lie, it was much more fun going down the ladder than climbing back up, but it makes us stronger to do the harder option. The biggest thing I did years ago to reach my speed goals was training with other people. My perceived effort while running fast with friends is 10 times lower than when I run alone. I’m not sure I would have finished this one without them!

That feeling when your kid has found something they are so very passionate about:
We said we weren’t going to eat out this week, but then this happened… 180 Tacos, steak, and rice bowl.
Followed by the start of some errands… Then Andrew got called into work, which means we get home, he gets changed, and leaves in a flash. I’m not sure how I would do being on call all of the time, but he really thrives with it.
We got caught in a rainstorm with the kids…
Which made it logical to jump right into the hot tub afterwards.

And then it was math and Spanish out on the porch together with Max (Beretta wanted some alone time… Max would be by her side 24/7 if he could;).
I tested this out, and it is perfect. Absolutely perfect.
