Top Canadian finishers at the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon

Sunday’s TCS New York City Marathon marked the final event of the 2025 Abbott World Marathon Majors. The women’s race made history as Kenya’s Hellen Obiri won her third NYC Marathon title in four years, becoming the first woman to break the 2:20 barrier on the iconic course. The 54th edition of the race also set a new world record with more than 59,000 finishers, including 1,000 Canadian runners.

In his final professional race, Canadian 10K record holder Charles Philibert-Thiboutot led the field of 1,129 Canadian finishers, clocking 2:26:25 in his debut at the distance for 55th overall. Katarina Mayer of Toronto was Canada’s top female finisher, clocking 2:46:38 to place 28th.
