Running

Tangents + Runners love homework, so here’s yours…

(shirt, shorts)

Ten beautiful miles with Jess to start out the week. Our area had a random cold front, and my fingers were frozen at the top. Quite the change from sweating my brains out last week.

We did the trail that Andrew and I did on our second date:

I got home and the girls wanted to get out on a trail run, too. Hilary Duff’s song, ‘This is what dreams are made of’ was playing in my head over the two miles these gals covered.

I hope this is a scene I get to see thousands of times:

Dinner was the beauty. We all decided that this should make it into the weekly or biweekly meal rotation because it hit the spot. Chicken Souvlaki Bowls.

Let’s go straight to the tangents:

If you need something to brighten your day, please google ‘shampooed cows.’

*Beck is fueled by Nutella and Uno. Those are the only two things he needs in this life besides us;)

*My cousin and his wife made us the absolute best fried rice. We devoured this, and each of our kids went back for thirds. It fed so many people.

6 cups of rice
4 cloves of garlic
1 large white or yellow onion
4 green onions
3 eggs
Salt
Pepper
Soy sauce
Sesame oil
Sesame seeds
3 lbs of steak
4 pounds of shrimp
2 lbs chicken
3 lbs frozen mixed vegetables

Season the meat and shrimp
Grill rice in oil
Add eggs and soy sauce
Grill meat and shrimp
Grill 3 lbs frozen mixed vegetables

Mix rice and vegetables
Grill until vegetables are soft
Combine all ingredients

*Andrew’s favorite sandals he has ever owned finally reached their expiration date:

*They even take their naps together.

*Hello allergies.

*Andrew said goodbye to one bike and will welcome a different bike into his life soon. He gave it one last hug before saying goodbye.

I’ve got some homework for you to do today:

*Run during the sunrise or sunset this week and send me a pic of it… I would love to post them all. There is something so healing about running during these two times of the day.

*Think about somebody that you REALLY enjoy running with. Reach out to them right now (take a break from reading this to do it;) and ask them to join you for some miles.

*Try a NEW pre-run, mid-run, or post-run fuel and pay attention to how it makes you feel. Maybe this will help you find something new that you would have never known about without branching out this week.

*Before you start your next run, take 30 seconds to visualize a strong run where you feel unstoppable. Take that scene you visualize into your run, and let me know how it carried over.

Sunrise or sunset? Which do you love most?

I prefer sunrise, and Andrew prefers sunset.

Give me a tangent!

Do you like grape-flavored drinks, jams, or candy?

-I love them too much. I feel like people are strongly on either side of the spectrum on this topic.

Favorite type of bowl meal… they are our favorite, I’m always looking for more.
