Last year I raced this 5k, and this year I got the chance to do it with the whole family (Skye’s idea!). Drills and stretches, first.
And then we were off. Thousands of people show up for this race, and 99% of people are in red, white, and Blue.
Brooke told me a few times how races are much more fun than normal runs and I fully agree.
Knox learned he should run the tangents next time to conserve energy, Brooke paced things more evenly than I ever have in a race, and Skye got her second wind when she saw a boy from school she wanted to beat.
These people did the 5k on stilts.
And this guy did the 10k in a spiderman suite… It was beyond hot in a tank and shorts, I can’t imagine.

Donuts before our car had problems and we were in the parking lot for quite some time.
And then to my in-laws for our annual 4th party. Andrew and his grandpa:
5 hours straight on this and then a lightning storm came in.
All of his favorite foods that he grew up with, fireworks, and family.
