Running

Round Two, Fragments, One of my biggest goals in parenting.

Yoga + 7 miles for the morning… The body felt pretty darn good. Those downhill marathons shred your quads into a million little fragments… Last week, I needed Andrew’s help to stand. It’s always pretty incredible to me how our bodies are able to put themselves back together after we’ve put them through these crazy races.

(I didn’t buy race pics, so here’s a blurry screenshot from a movie Andrew took;)

We got a hello from CLAYTON YOUNG as he was running by. Every time we see him, he is so friendly and looks like he is having a blast on his run.

The trail was beautiful yesterday. One of my biggest goals as a parent is to raise kids who feel grounded in nature… who look to it for strength, wonder, and hope. Life is so much better when I do this.

Amazing how he hit 5 and turned into a big kid.

We spent the afternoon building a LEGO car while we waited for the big kids to get home from school. I find a piece every now and then when he can’t, but other than that, he can build the entire thing on his own.

I made a goal to stick to just one Alani a week, and the Winter Wonderland one is incredible!

No more shopping for me;)… Hockey has started again for Skye.

It’s time for the second round of cleanup; 7 layers of leaves are currently resting on our lawn. Our walnut tree still has a bunch of leaves on it, so maybe we will wait until it’s lost them all.

Our evening ended with a banquet to celebrate Knox’s football season. Hearing the things his coaches had to say about him was pretty incredible.

And a stunning sunrise run pic from Megan in the Southern California desert. Movement + sunrise = the best way to start the day. I love getting your sunrise running pics, so send them to me!

What pro-runners have you seen in real life?

And for two very random questions:

What’s your comfort show right now?

-Mine has been The Office for the last 20 years. Time to branch out?

What smell instantly makes you happy?

-Vanilla and Christmas trees… separate, not combined.
