My All-Time Favorite Running Gear List That’s Worth Every Penny.

I take my running gear very seriously…. Even when I am not training for a big goal. I want to have the best experience I can each morning I head out the door, and the wrong gear can make ALL of the difference in whether or not you enjoy the run. So, without further ado… I compiled a list of running things I would pack into a suitcase if I were to go and live on a deserted island for the next ten years.

*The Smith Bobcat Sunglasses. They are pricey but worth it for me. I’ve never lost or broken a pair, which shows how sacred they are to me. I’ve tried many, many sunglasses over the years, and these are my #1. They don’t move at all while I run. I block all the sun out of my very sensitive eyes (I even need sunglasses on a cloudy day!) because they are so big.

*If my suitcase only had enough room for three pairs of shoes, I would bring the Nike Pegasus Trail 5, Adizero Adios Pro 4, and Asics Superblasts. I have plenty of running shoes that I adore, but these are the three that I absolutely could not live without.

*These hair rubber bands. I sound high-maintenance, but I am picky with hair rubber bands. The wrong ones give me headaches and feel like they pull my hair out. These barely leave a crease when I take my hair out, and I don’t have to think about them at all.

*My Suunto Run (not a great picture, but a fabulous watch). You get everything you need for MUCH cheaper than other brands… The battery lasts for 20 hours in GPS mode, which means I never have to stress about it dying mid-run, and the bright AMOLED display is easy to read whether I’m in full sun or pre-dawn darkness. I also love how accurate the tracking (pace and elevation) is. It also has offline music for solo runs, and recovery tracking that keeps me from overtraining, it’s like having a personal coach on my wrist. I can’t live without it. Oh, I also love the velcro watch strap because it allows me to get the most perfect fit.

*My Vuori hat for rainy days. I can’t run in the rain without a hat.

*My most-worn winter piece is this vest. It keeps my core so warm and gives my arms the freedom they need to run! If it’s really cold, this coat saves me.

*My Nathan Pinnacle hydration vest is hands-down the most comfortable pack I’ve ever run in. It’s super lightweight, doesn’t bounce around, and somehow has enough pockets for water, snacks, and all the random things I swear I might need mid-run. I’ve worn it on hot summer days and long trail climbs, and it’s never rubbed or chafed… which is basically the dream when you’re carrying gear for hours.

*If I just had to choose three shorts to take, my current top three (aka what I reach for the most often) would be–> of course, the adidas run shorts, vuori clementine, and lulu hotty hot 4″.

*Leggings that I could never survive without (leggings that slide down are the worst and I refuse to wear any that do): The salutation stash leggings, own the run leggings, and Amazon leggings for.the.win.

*A Peloton subscription to keep up with yoga/peloton/strength classes so I don’t get injured again. Along with podcasts and audiobooks on my solo runs.

*The three sports bras that I would bring along with me if I had to choose: the run pocket, interval bra, and longline energy bra.

*SOCKS. Wear the wrong socks and I will probably cry. I’ve worn and loved the power strides for years, I can’t get enough of OS1st socks, and Bombas run socks.

*My current favorite lip gloss because you know I could run if I didn’t have a thick layer of gloss on evenly dispersed.

*As far as run nutrition goes that I couldn’t live without–> my FAVORITE pre-workout drink (protein, delicious, caffeine for the win), maurten gels during the run, Core Power (and my green smoothie ((chia seeds, kale, spinach, chard, frozen fruit, water)) after a run, and liquid IV all day long.

Health is the real wealth, which means you should invest in gear that keeps you going out for runs;)
