Running

I hope you get this.

(tank, shoes)

A beautiful trail run with Emilee and these red poppies were an unexpected find along the trail.

May is my new favorite moth.

I also tried out a yoga/pilates class yesterday that left my core burning in every way possible.

Toasted sourdough with butter and yearbook viewing after school:

I had to take the kids to see the flowers and hike around for a bit.

Max and Beretta came, too.

Sometimes these mountains don’t look real…

And a dinner that I see us eating often this summer:

I was going to print out some fancy morning checklists but decided to make them on my own. I love a good laminator…

PS with summer coming, these are the best s’mores addition.

Some random run thoughts for today:

I hope you get one of those runs soon where you feel like all of your thoughts finally get a bit organized. One where you feel like you are connected to the earth and nature in a way you’ve never experienced. I hope you get a run soon where, by the end, you don’t remember what you were stressed about when you walked out the door to start your run. I hope you get a run soon where the sunrise makes you feel like you are getting a hug from whatever higher power you believe in. And maybe even a run where you can remember who you really are and what you really feel. I’m positive that running/walking/hiking can be some of our quietest, most peaceful, and most introspective times, which doesn’t really make sense because my runs are when my body is working its hardest. I’ll always be grateful for the time to reset, refocus, and slow my mind down each day.

These two pictures are from a run that did all of these things for me one morning. How lucky are we that we get to do this?

-I think goat cheese ranks supreme for me right now.

Dinner that you tend to eat often in the summer?

Tell me something that your last run did for you?

Ever do pilates? Thoughts?
