Running

Conflicting opinions solved by my journals in 2000…

6 miles @ a 7:58 pace to start the day.

We got to see Jo’s baby’s ankle rolls, which was quite the treat.

Jo could hear us a mile away, and it was such a beautiful reunion.

We are in the most popular month of the year for marathons…

All of that summer training is finally paying off for so many runners this month.

I did my last lower-body strength workout with weights before the marathon. I’ll do some bands and body weight exercises leading up to the marathon, but I’m done with actual weights for a minute.

One thing I’ve learned about marathon prep is that you can never start carbloading too early… 10 days!

It’s Fall Break in Utah, so we headed south for a few days. We hit snow along the way, which we hadn’t expected.

My sister and I had conflicting opinions on a life event back in 2002, and because I wasn’t blogging quite yet then, I turned to my journals for answers…

Turns out, she was right. I was wrong. Maybe I shouldn’t have pulled them out.

While I was searching for answers, I saw that I’ve been recording my runs for at least 25 years now:

Seeing this P.S. from back in 2004 made me smile. I wrote an entire entry about how excited I was to be a mom and all of the fun things that I wanted to do with my kids. Also, I know that my writing hasn’t changed much in the last 20 years;)

I was also reminded that I was much more daring when I was younger:

Is journaling your thing?

-I started journaling as soon as I could write:). Blogging took over in 2010, but I try to squeeze in a few lines in my journals whenever I can.

Anyone else on fall break? Have any plans?

When do you start writing down/recording your runs?

Tell me about your run today!
