Canadian trail runner Jazmine Lowther on her standout 2025 season

When you look back at the past 12 months, there’s not much that ultra-trail runner Jazmine Lowther of Nelson, B.C., hasn’t done.
After a summer of big-time performances that included a top 10 finish at the legendary UTMB Finals in Chamonix, France (Lowther raced the 61 km OCC event), she saved her best performance for last, leading the Canadian team at the 2025 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in Spain with a phenomenal fourth-place finish in the 82-km long trail event.
When she’s not taking on the best in the world head-to-head, Lowther’s competitive fire stays stoked chasing some of the most iconic FKTs in trail running, notching fastest known times on routes like the Mauna Kea Volcano in Hawaii and the legendary Grand Teton in Wyoming.
This week on The Shakeout Podcast, we connect with Lowther to recap her standout performance at the championships, plus the preparation that helped her get there and what challenges still loom ahead.
