Harry Styles clocks a speedy 2:59:13 at Berlin Marathon

From pop hits to personal bests: Harry Styles charged through the streets of Berlin on Sunday. The 31-year-old singer ran the Berlin Marathon in 2:59:13, averaging 4:15 per kilometre and dipping under the three-hour mark for the first time.

Berlin marks Styles’ second World Marathon Major of the year, following his Tokyo Marathon debut in March, where he finished in 3:24:07. This time, his halfway split of 1:29:08 shows he kept the pace steady, coming back in 1:30:06 to secure a PB. Trimming over 25 minutes from his last marathon in half a year highlights just how committed Styles is to his running performance.

Could you finish Harry Styles’ hard marathon session?

Styles’s training routine would challenge even the most dedicated athletes. High-intensity days mix a 10–30 minute jog, a timed mile (his best stands at 5:13), plus 100 push-ups, sit-ups and squats in eight minutes, followed by weights, treadmill sprints and core work. Former British special forces member and professional fighter David Thibo, whipped him into shape to prepare for Tokyo, working toward peak performance that would carry over into all aspects of Styles’s life.

With this run, Styles has officially proven he can go from “Watermelon Sugar” to marathon sugar, and can power through both a setlist and a scorching hot marathon with equal flair. Will Harry take his talents to the next Abbott World Marathon Major?
