Every Memorial Day we head out to do Buffalo Peak. It’s a 10 mile route with 3,000 ft of climbing. The views are unreal, the climbs burn, and it gets me deep into nature. Thanks to Claritin for allowing me to get out into these areas… I NEED them.

Once the snow melts… My goal is to get into these mountains below. I’ve never set foot on them and need that to change.

Of course. The higher I am in elevation, the better candy tastes.

When is Utah Tourism going to hire me?

Andrew didn’t know what trail we were doing and went out on his own and we randomly passed each other when our trails crossed! What are the odds?! We also ran into my friend Jess’s husband up there, too.

The world’s best babysitter. My niece.

Our neighbor’s stopped over with their new puppy and Skye fell deeply in love.

We picked up Brookie at the airport. Every time she comes home, I swear she has grown 5 inches.

Skye was more than ready to be reunited.

Brooke had to go visit the new neighbor puppy as soon as we got home. It fit in her pocket!

You’re never too old to start a new hobby. Never. I wrote a bit ago about how grateful I was to be in a place in life where I found so much joy in new hobbies and learning more about what I love to do. New hobbies can really make a big difference in our lives. They bring excitement and help us break away from autopilot living and spark those childlike feelings that wake us up. They help us to forget about our problems, find things to look forward to and create a life that makes us feel most like ourselves and at home in our bodies. But sometimes, the hardest part of it all is thinking of what to start. So, let’s compile a list here and in the comments of hobbies. I’m counting on you to give me ideas that I would have never thought of without you. The best is yet to come for all of us and I love thinking that we still have some of our very favorite things to experience.

*Sourdough bread. Never would I have thought it would bring me as much peace and satisfaction as it does.

*Floral arranging

*Gardening

*Knitting, crocheting, or sewing

*A new fitness class or joining a rec sports team

*Learning a new language

*Scuba-diving or snorkeling

*An instrument

*Reading. Try out a new genre of books you’ve never really given a chance!

*Cooking classes, or cake decorating,

*Puzzles

*Hosting get togethers for neighbors, old friends, family, your kid’s friends… I am always amazed by people that bring together groups of people so beautifully.

*Traveling. Big trips, small campouts, day trips… The planning and excitement leading up to it brings just as much happiness as the actual event.

*Painting, photography, pottery, coloring, jewelry making, gem cutting… creation is where so many people find their greatest joys.

*Yoga or meditation

*Animals… Between training Max (okay, okay, I can’t take too much credit in his development ha), raising chicks or watching the storks and learning about them when we were in Colmar, there is so many different hobbies related to animals.

*I remember when I was single, I joined a group that tried a new restaurant/cuisine every month and it was so much fun. Start a group that does this!

*HIKING, TRAIL RUNNING, NATURING, ROCK CLIMBING. I am positive the mountains are my most spiritual places.

*Nails, makeup, fashion, skincare, if you enjoy it.. learn more about it and spend time doing it.

*Music, making playlists, going to concerts…

*Your community. I find a lot of joy in organizing a race for our elementary school in the fall and a cross country team of 5-11 year olds in the spring:)

*Museums… Local colleges and universities offer so many great ones.

*Sports spectating–> I give Brooke and Knox credit for this one. They’ve made me love going to football games and watching games on TV (with good food of course)

Don’t forget it’s okay to be mediocre at things.. Making my kids summer checklists with their markers and then laminating them with my 3rd grader handwriting brought me more joy than I care to admit;). Laminating paper brings a weird joy into my life.

In a world where we are constantly inputting information, it feels so good to output. I can’t wait to hear about your hobbies.
