2025 Transvulcania Ultramarathon Live Coverage – iRunFar

The 2025 Transvulcania Ultramarathon, on the island of La Palma in Spain’s Canary Islands, celebrates its 15th anniversary and iRunFar is here to help celebrate it!

The 73-kilometer (45.4 miles) ultra begins at the Atlantic Ocean, climbs to the top of a chain of volcanoes, reaches the island’s high point of 2,420 meters (7,940 feet), and descends back to the sea again. Before it’s over, though, there’s one last grunt of a climb up to the finish line in the city of Los Llanos at about 340 meters (1,120 feet) altitude.

The race starts on Saturday, May 10, at 6 a.m. local time, which is 11 p.m. Friday, May 9, U.S. Mountain Daylight Time.

The course records are 6:52:39 for the men, a time standing from 2015 by Luis Alberto Hernando, and 8:02:49 for the women, set by Ruth Croft last year.

We’ll be livecasting the event over on iRunFar’s X feed with text and photo reports from all over the course. We’ll also be live blogging the same material as on X below in this article.
