Which means… + the burn + highly recommend!

Beck is an earllllllly riser. He goes to bed the same time as Skye but he just wants to be up and partying in the early mornings with me.

I got out for a solo run and decided to get in some hill work.
Picture from the bottom of the hill (ps these tights are the only leggings I would ever race in… they just make me feel fast because the material is so sleek):

Picture from the top of the hill… every step burned:

I hit a PR on the hill that Strava says I have run 50 times. I’ve never done this hill as a sprint, but I have included it in plenty of tempo runs, so I’m proud I can at least do a sprint right now faster than my tempo paces on here when I am at my fittest, haha. I did four more hill sprints on different hills throughout the rest of the run, which means it was my longest speed workout in months—7 miles total @ 7:52 average pace.

And then a quick wardrobe change (there isn’t a dollar amount you could pay me to stay in my sweaty workout clothes after a run, and during the winter… I would become hypothermic) and a Peloton full body strength workout before getting kids to school.

We ran out of Beck’s favorite mini frozen pizzas from TJs and cucumbers so a stop there was a must.

My mom and niece stopped by and I had them taste test a new item I saw at TJ’s. All three of us voted them delicious.

I couldn’t walk by a Brookie caramel without getting them to try with Brooke, also very delicious.

And sometimes they make making dinner too easy for me + some roasted veggies on the side.

Andrew finished up the tiling yesterday and everything should be done by tonight.

PS Brooke’s goal is to be the one who can help us get around France with the language. She is picking up the basics quite quickly, thanks to Duolingo, and she is helping Skye, too.

We also watch as many YouTube clips as possible on what we should do and have regular family planning meetings. Each person is choosing one thing they want to do in each city, which means we will definitely be visiting the underground catacombs in Paris because that is what Andrew chose;)

I finished this book yesterday. Ruta Sepetys has quickly become one of my favorite authors. This story is about a Lithuanian family being ripped out of their home and deported to labour camps in Siberia during WWII. The story is absolutely hearbreaking with what these people went through and it really made me question if there was any way I would have survived in these circumstances?! Ruta Sepetys does an incredible job showing little snipets of love through her characters and how they sacrificed for one another no matter how bad things got. I highly recommend this book if you love historical fiction.

Parents reading–> Have early, mid, late risers?
*A mix of everything as the big kids are almost teenagers… sometimes there is a 3 hour gap between when people are waking up on the weekends.
Finished any good books lately?
Has January gone by fast or slow for you?
