Running

Weekending + I feel so bad + Our part-time job.

I’m concerned that I’ll never be able to set an alarm clock for working out again. I think part of the reason I always jump back into training after marathons quickly is because I’m worried that it will be too hard for me to get in shape or disciplined for them again if I have taken a big break. It’s almost easier to stay into training… but clearly my body is requesting a long break without it. I’m already wondering how I marathon trained during the winters and it wasn’t that long ago that I was doing just that…

I am positive I’ll be spending more time on PT, strength, and stretching than running when I am back at it with training. It’s my new reality.

From my friend’s story that was planning on running the Big Bear Marathon on Saturday… Did you hear that they cancelled the full marathon at 2:30 am the morning of the race because of the icy roads? I feel horrible for everybody that worked so hard to get to this race. The marathoners were able to join in the half that morning and I was happy to see that I had so many friends that hit massive half-marathon PRs!

Beck had his first friend birthday party. He soaks in doing things on his own that he has watched the older kids do for so long.

Andrew went to four BYU games last week, and the rest of us went to three… It was basically our part-time job.

The football game was next level cold and sadly, it was their first loss of the season. My sister and BIL gave us amazing seats and Brooke was in heaven.

We made Megan’s Ebelskiverr for breakfast Sunday morning and that helped us all to feel alive again after staying up much too late. This electric pan was so fun to use!

And now for a few random things…

Brooke found her Moose card from when she was in Primary Children’s Hospital. The therapy dogs turned her days around. We will never forget them (or their owners)!

How he fell asleep like this, I will never understand. After about 30 minutes he got up without saying a word and went into his bed to continue his nap haha.

This sweet potato taco bowl may not look good but it hit the spot. Sweet potatoes + beans + cheesy ground beef with taco seasoning, salsa, sour cream and chimichurri sauce (wish I would have had avocado with it)!

Please find this at Trader Joe’s. It is the best chocolate they have.
