We are off…

It was a chatty 10 miles @ 8:30 pace kind of Saturday. This canyon is usually very windy all winter long, and we had our first still morning up there since last year.

Brooke is ready to document the trip with her camera, and we will scrapbook the photos when we get home. I was SO into scrapbooking when I was her age, and all my babysitting funds went straight to the local scrapbooking store.

Brooke’s friend’s mom texted me about Brooke’s friend’s birthday party a while ago, and then I went to take her, only to realize we were 8 hours early. At least it wasn’t 8 hours late…

Remember how I quit getting my nails done? Well, my family made quite the fuss over missing back scratches with these nails, so they are back. I’m not mad about it.

We then spent most of the day at my sister’s house. Our kids needed to spend as much time as possible together before we left. We played this game, and if you are looking for a game to get your brain firing, try it out. It has 4.8 stars and 16k reviews on Amazon. It works your brain differently than any other game I have played.

My sister has a difficult time saying no to Beck when he pulls out this face.

Curly (my niece) made everyone the best Tikka Masala for dinner on Saturday night.

Then we came home and finished packing. Beck was very concerned that France wouldn’t have microwavable popcorn, so he packed his own.

Sunday morning, I took a risk and woke the kids up a few hours earlier than they normally do in hopes that it would help them fall asleep earlier on the flight. I’ll let you know if it worked and helped them get in a longer chunk of sleep or if it blew up in my face on the flight.

We left SLC in the afternoon and landed in Paris at 8:30 am. Direct flights have my heart.

We packed everything into these four bags, and then each of us has a backpack. Everything I packed is in this post.

Here we go! I have blog posts scheduled for while we are away, and I’ll post stories on Instagram. I’ll still be reading comments and replying to them whenever I get a chance. You can’t get rid of me for that long…

Did anyone else scrapbook?
Any highlights from your weekend?
What I asked my family yesterday–> For a ten-hour flight, how much money would it take for you to do a 10-hour flight with zero entertainment? You just have to sit there and stare at the seat in front of you.
-Skye was the lowest at $400, and the rest of us said $1k, haha.
Has anyone recently tried to give something up and failed like me?
