The real test + Newport Happenings.
I ran. I’ve been pain-free for a few days + I had the chance to run next to the ocean with Andrew on the bike <– I felt like those were my signs that it was time to go for a run. I got an A+ in taking time off for my injury but the real test happens now–> Avoiding jumping back into it all too quickly + continuing to strength train and cross-train. Keep me accountable so I can ace this part of properly recovering from an injury.
The beach house we rented had ten bikes in the garage… The beach cruiser was a bit of a change for Andrew compared to what he is usually riding.
You guys. It felt so good to run again. I felt like myself. 3 miles @ 8:40 pace.
We went over to the pier and when we turned around, we saw this donut shop and had to stop.
If you are ever nearby, please get this cronut. It was perfection.
Andrew has decided he wants to switch out his mountain biking seat for this one from a beach cruiser. Maybe I’d be able to bike better with this one on my road bike?
We all went on a walk together on the beach afterwards and somehow the kids all jumped into the water full clothed.
Andrew’s sister and her family were with us which made it even more fun.
We watched the BYU Football game and it was a disappointing one but due to this below happening Saturday morning, I was still on cloud 9:
In the evening I was dared to get in the water but I did not have a swimsuit bottom on because I thought there wasn’t a chance I would be getting in… I got in with a pair of inside out leggings that I had on under my joggers haha. It was only cold for about 8 seconds and then my body went numb.
We finished up Sunday with a few more hours at the beach before starting the drive home.
Candy musts at the beach:
It was pretty impossible to leave this to go get in the car for 9.5 hours but we did it.
PS madewell is 40% off everything today! I have this top, this T-shirt, these jeans, these socks, these silver earrings, and this Henley, are in my cart and my barrel jeans are also on sale!
