I’ll be that friend + I promise this is me writing this…

Today’s post is sponsored by adidas. I fell in love with each piece and I’m very excited to share their new Optime Squat-Proof line!

(bra, leggings, shoes, jacket)
I know you are going to think that someone hacked into my blog and is the one writing the next few sentences, but it is me. I don’t have any running goals for 2025 yet. Other than my pregnancy/breastfeeding years, I don’t think this has ever happened since I first started running marathons in 2010. Of course, I want to get in miles each week because of how much running does for me and my relationships, but I just don’t have the zing (YET) in me to go after a marathon PR. Maybe it’s the winter, maybe it will change next week (Andrew does say he is married to a new person each day;), maybe I was overtrained last fall, or maybe it’s from coming back after an injury… The key to running and training happy is to follow your heart with these things, so I’m going to do that. When it’s the right season for a big goal or race, we will know it! I love it when a race makes my heart beat fast just thinking about it because I’m so excited, and I know that will happen again eventually!
Ever since my injury, my heart (and brain) have had the desire to get strong. My back reminded me that as I age, if I want to continue doing the things I want to do, a big part of the equation must be strength training. I EVEN BOUGHT A GYM PASS because I am serious about this goal. And I am having fun with it. It’s so thrilling to be able to do a strength move after not being able to do it when you first started trying it. It’s so fun to be able to go up in weight. I’m really loving feeling like my posture is improving, and overall, different muscles are working now that were asleep for a while.

(bra, leggings, shoes)
I’m excited to share the PERFECT pieces I have found for strength training today. Dressing for the job you want is one of my favorite sayings because it is so true for me. I perform so much better for whatever I am trying to do when I have comfortable pieces that move with me. Clothing that is functional for the task at hand and makes me feel confident is so important IMO. And most importantly, these leggings KEEP ME COVERED where I want to be covered! PS If you ever need a friend to help enable you with your shopping, I am your woman;). My running friends greatly appreciate this character trait of mine, but I am not sure their husbands do.
*The TLRD Impact Training High Support Bra! This bra keeps everything in place for your entire workout. It’s adjustable in a few places, allowing you to find the perfect fit. It also gives a great shape and is beyond comfortable. I wore it for an entire day last week.

*The Optime 3-Stripes Full-Length Leggings! These leggings do not slide down during your workout in the slightest. The pocket is perfect for your phone, and the fabric feels so sleek on my skin. These leggings include CLIMACOOL to help you stay cool and dry at the gym. This warm clay color is my absolute favorite.

With the Optime Squat-Proof Leggings (the fabric has a four-way stretch!!), you get to focus on your workout, not what you are showing the world as you squat or lunge;). I can pay attention to getting stronger, not readjusting my workout gear the whole session.

*The Designed 4 Training Full-Zip Hooded Sweatshirt! This sweatshirt is the best layer for the gym. The fleece fabric makes me excited to put it on against my skin. It includes zippered pockets to keep my airpods/keys right where I want them. This sweatshirt is made with CLIMACOOL to wick and disperse any sweat to keep you dry, cool, and comfortable.

*The Dropset 3 Strength Training Shoes! Please be proud of me–> Coming from the girl who used to lift in my carbon-plated shoes after a speed workout, I now have proper strength training shoes!! I love the stability and balance these shoes offer me at the gym. They plant my feet into the ground while offering the perfect amount of comfort. They also give the flexibility needed for any of the cross-training I want to do (I love them on the stairclimber). These beauties are super breathable and the color has been my favorite the past few months…

They fit true to size and they are the cutest pair of shoes I own.

Let’s get strong this year so we can run for as long as we possibly want and avoid any injuries associated with muscle weaknesses. We’ve got this!
