Running

How much would you pay for this? + Weekending + Overboard

The above picture is from before the hills started. I wanted to quit so many times on Saturday. My legs felt like tree trunks. The trail we did, I have done so many times before, but this time it felt like it gained an additional 1k ft of climbing since the last time I did it (which is weird because my Garmin said it was 1800 ft of gain when it is usually 1200 ft of climbing so maybe the plates have shifted beneath us and it did actually get harder🤣). It doesn’t matter how hard it is to wake up and get out the door or how hard the run was (and how many times we want to quit), we always get the reward of feeling hardcore and accomplished for the rest of the day afterwards. And that is what makes the cement legs feeling worth it.

Andrew is starting a new training block for his next race in August… This one is supposed to be at least twice as hard as his last one!

And then it was straight to soccer. Brooke was in charge of bringing the team mascot.

One of the girls on the team has a Great Pyrenees, and it is the sweetest dog.

We then got to work on making 10 loaves of sourdough bread. Heaven forbid we lightly jump into a new hobby; we tend to go overboard.

I got to have Curly over after not seeing her in a week because she was out of town. I made some homemade jam to go with the bread. I dropped the themometer into the boiling fruit mixture and the tongs saved the day.

After Knox’s football game, we decided to walk up and down our main street and explore. We came across an art exhibit, cookies, and murals. I want to be better at exploring our own city.

And then we did the Easter thing…

And my family came over for Easter dinner. We also had a combined birthday for my mom and Andrew at the same time. We made our favorite tortellini soup, bread, roasted veggies and fruit.

We finished up with Italian Cheesecake (Andrew’s #1).

And a cousin Easter Egg hunt.

Brooke has really gotten into sourdough and making gorgeous designs on hers. The taste of hers is a 10/10. She is considering starting a business (Brooke’s Bread) and selling them to neighbors…

What would you pay for a loaf of fresh sourdough delivered to your door?

Tell me a highlight from your weekend??
