Get ready to feel some things…

My mom is here today to share something very exciting news for her and us :
Hello Everyone!
I am so excited about some pretty amazing new technology! First, let me explain a few things.
I started losing my hearing and wearing hearing aids when I was 30 years old. I started learning to lip-read when I realized my hearing could eventually reach zero. My middle ears are trashed. By the time I was in my 50s, I had gotten to the point that I really struggled to understand conversations. Eventually, I tested out as profoundly hearing impaired. I am not a candidate for a cochlear or a bone-anchored hearing aid because I have a hyperimmune system. An infection next to my brain would be very bad.
Hearing loss is famous for causing feelings of being left out of all social gatherings. I’m so grateful for my family, who has been so sensitive to my hearing loss, but it has still been very hard. I asked my husband how long he would stay at a party/dinner when everyone was speaking a language he couldn’t understand and had no way to learn it. He said ten minutes. I think I have done pretty well to continually try to be at dinners, etc., knowing it wouldn’t be easy to understand everything going on.
I had surgery three years ago that was supposed to help fix everything, but unfortunately, it made both ears worse.
I am so happy now because I have found some amazing new technology! I have been hoping that some high-tech company would put closed captioning in glasses. I knew there were glasses for gaming, so I was really hopeful. Recently, a few companies started selling exactly what I had been hoping for! I ordered my glasses and upgraded my Apple iPhone to 16 Pro, so I would have the best microphones. I am so happy with how they work. They do great at family dinners when one person talks at a time. I can talk to someone and relax just reading the captions! There are a few minor bugs still, but it’s new tech, so that’s expected. It really is a miracle for me! If anyone has any questions, I would be happy to answer them! Have a great day!
Janae back now: We are all so beyond grateful for these glasses (and my mom looks SO cute in them, too).

She is now able to have conversations with all of her grandkids (kids are much harder to lip-read)! Beck can tell her EVERY little thought he has ever had now.

Isn’t it amazing? I tried to get a picture of how the caption looks but it’s really hard to get it on camera. The captions show up right away and they are so easy to read and follow. It’s beyond incredible.

The only downside is that she now has to take off her glasses at some of the jokes at family dinners that are a bit too spicy. We know it’s time to be more appropriate when she takes her glasses off;)
