A sign that a runner is not hurt + Friday Favorites + Sales

(bra)

The race I’m doing in August includes 5,300 ft of climbing… Which is more than I climb when I do Mt Timpanogos (the mountain in the background below with snow on it). I’ve got some serious training to do, and thankfully, Andrew does too for his mountain biking race in August with way more climbing;)

We made it up to the rock pile, which is quite a climb, and then enjoyed winding single tracks for a while, creating a beautiful loop.

On the descent, Andrew was cruising ahead of me, and I was trying to be cool and attempt to keep up with him when my toe barely hit a root and sent me flying through the air. Andrew got turned around when he heard me screaming, and then I sat there and ugly cried for a solid 7 minutes. I’m very thankful that nothing hurts other than scrapes. I need to be a bit more cautious on the downs. PS I stopped my Garmin right after I fell, which is a good sign, in my opinion, that I’m not that hurt. If I didn’t stop my Garmin, that would raise concerns;)

It pays to have a nurse as your husband; he got the little rock out that was stuck in my hand and reassured me that my very superficial cuts did not require a stop at the ER for stitches, like I was sure they did.

And then for run club later on in the day, I realized that I was in slippers when I arrived, and did some running with my team in Uggs. Yesterday was an interesting one.

The most delicious part of the day was the protein balls that I made (recipe from my friend, Kassi!). Mix everything together–> 3 cups oats (coarsely blended), 2 cups runny peanut butter, 4 scoops of protein powder, 1 cup unsweetened coconut flakes, 1/4 cup chia seeds, 1/3 cup flax meal, 1/4 cup coconut oil melted, 2 tsp vanilla, 1 cup chocolate chips. Store them in a Tupperware and put them in the fridge.

Now to jump into the favorites for the week:

*I love a shirt that has a good message.

*We were so influenced in Paris to buy a crepe machine, and I’m so thankful that we bought one. They cook so much faster and more evenly than the pan we used before. We eat a lot of crepes, so it is very worth the storage space in our pantry. It’s also a great price and even came with the tools for spreading the crepe out; we feel so fancy now. We use this recipe (after trying many), and it is by far our favorite crepe recipe.

*I love knowing where people get swimsuits, so I thought I would share mine, Beck, and Skye’s today. I bought these at the H&M in Paris (I know, I know haha) and I can’t find the same one online here, but this one is pretty identical, and I cannot handle how sweet it is. Beck’s is here. Their kids swimsuits are my favorite this season.

*I tried out Vuori for mine! This top and these bottoms. I love an athletic-looking swimsuit and trust Vuori because I’ve loved so many of their running pieces. I’m sold.

*Also, this Amazon one-piece is a 10/10. It is so flattering and unbeatable for the price. I swear it looks amazing on anyone I’ve ever seen wear it.

*If you need to freshen up your spring workout and running wardrobes, adidas Women’s workout clothes are so good right now.  The pinks, purples, and greens have my heart.

*I lost my favorite pair of summer running sunglasses so I’m ordering a new pair.

*Athleta is 25% off your purchase! The interval stash shorts are beyond good, and such a great price right now! My other favorites currently are the squarneck tank, momentum tank, 1/2 zip hoodie, mesh short, endless pant, elation legging, transcend shorts, retreat linen top w/ the linen shorts, transcend squareneck tank, reform adjustable sports bra, signature crop tee, and salutation stash legging.
