A guest post from Curly!

Curly has been around since I started this blog (and the main star for a while:)…

She didn’t leave her crib without this hat on for a solid 1.5 years.

This means many of you have seen her grow into the amazing human she is today. When I grow up, I want to be just like my nieces. I could hang out with them 24/7. I’ve hired Curly as my ‘Personal Assistant’, but really, it’s to con her into hanging out with me.

Today, Curly is answering in lists of 3:
3 things you have learned from your aunt Janae?
* A bag of candy is better when not shared. One of my favorite things about my aunt is that she will rip off the part of the package that says share size so that she doesn’t feel guilty when eating the whole bag by herself. I do think sharing is very important, and I think Janae knows that too…. But sometimes a bag of candy is better not shared.
* Go the extra mile… literally. I will admit, I am NOWHERE as NEAR as fast as my aunt, but I have inherited from her the gene from her where I feel the need to run more than planned. It does take me a wee bit longer to run the extra mile though 🙂
* If there is a new clothes trend, Janae better be the first person you tell. My aunt is so cute in the way that she loves to copy all of the clothes and jewelry I wear. I will take all the credit for transitioning her from gold to silver. I’m flattered that she trusts me enough to believe what I say about fashion.

3 foods that you could not live without?
* Like my aunt, I definitely have a sweet tooth. And nothing gets better than Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream. I really do try to eat the ice cream slowly and savor each and every bite, but it would be a lie that I do that.
* Dream Pizza. My mom is very well known for her BBQ chicken pizza. The flavors melt on your tongue like nothing else. The nickname dream pizza came from Skye. And I won’t lie, the name fits it perfectly. Skye really knows her stuff.
* After a long day of school, nothing tastes quite as good as a nice cold bowl of Reese’s Puffs. I don’t really know how to put my love for Reese’s Puffs into words; all I can say is that I’m very grateful that there’s at least one box of it at my house at all times.
3 places you are dying to visit?
* ITALY! My biggest dream in life is to move to Italy. I will admit that I have never gone, but I am absolutely in LOVE with the idea of living in Italy. Don’t worry, one day I will convince Janae to take me there.
* Greece. I have never been outside of the USA, but if I travel the world, I plan on having Greece be one of the first places I visit. I bet the Mediterranean diet is to die for.
* Hawaii. Hawaii is one of my favorite places in the whole world. I have visited a couple of times, and every time I step off the plane, I feel every worry leave my body. I can’t think of a better day spent than a day spent on the beach.
3 things that we should know about teenagers?
* Saturdays don’t start until noon. There really is not ever a good enough reason to get me out of bed before noon.
* New clothes= happiness. There’s not much in the world that feels better than wearing a new outfit for the first time.
* There’s not much that can be more appreciated than food I didn’t have to pay for. It’s always the best day of my life when I come home to a nice home-cooked meal or when someone offers to pay for my food. Food is the key to the heart of any teenager.
3 ways to help a teenager feel their best:
* Encourage them in what they do. Sometimes, all we need is a little pat on the back to motivate us to keep on going.
* Help them in all the ways you can to help them achieve things in life. I feel like every teenager has a little idea of how they want their life to turn out. It can be very stressful, though, to try and accomplish everything. The choices you make while a teen are some of the most important. Just having someone there to help you back up whenever you fall is one of the greatest things in life. I hope that I can be that person for someone.
* Having a little patience. Everyone makes mistakes, even teenagers, believe it or not 😉 Patience is so important; it is one of the best things you can give someone in life. It can be challenging, though, but if everyone just had a little more patience, I believe that the world would be just a little bit better.

Thank you, Curly. You make my life so much fun.
